The ABCs of Rheumatology: Part 2

How can this event help me?

Medical terms and test results can feel overwhelming when managing a rheumatic condition. In Part 2 of The ABCs of Rheumatology, Dr. Armando Faigl returns to demystify rheumatology language, giving you a clearer understanding of how your condition is monitored and how key terms relate. Whether you joined us for Part 1 (we highly recommend watching it!) or are tuning in now, this follow-up will deepen your knowledge of terminology around tests, treatment plans, and ongoing care.

Join Armando for another informative session where he will touch on:

  • Terms used in monitoring your condition:
Understand key concepts that are used to track your progress, such as how your disease is managed, how symptoms are monitored, and how changes in your condition are assessed over time.

  • Terms related to medication response:
Learn the terminology used to describe how well treatments are working, including when a medication is proving effective or needs to be adjusted, and what it means when treatment plans need to be revised.

  • Terms around imaging and scans:
Explore how doctors use terms related to imaging and scans to describe changes in the joints, including what these changes mean for the progression of your condition and how they impact treatment.

  • Terms used in specialist communication:
Get familiar with the language specialists use to ensure coordinated care, including terms that highlight the role of teamwork, decision-making between you and your healthcare providers, and the focus on long-term treatment goals.

This session will help make rheumatology language clearer and more approachable, giving you the confidence to navigate your healthcare with greater understanding. Join us on Wednesday, 14th May at 8:00 PM AEST for this live virtual event. As always, we welcome your questions and discussions to make this an engaging and supportive experience for everyone.
