About Sarah Comensoli

Sarah is the manager of our Allied Health team at BJC, and also heads up our Marketing team. She has also been a director of BJC Health since 2018. Sarah has been practising as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist since 2008, and has worked in a number of clinical and gym settings since then. First joining BJC in 2011, she has helped build our Exercise Physiology service to be one which is unmatched in delivering care to those with rheumatic disease.

Although not practising as much clinically these days, Sarah still loves hearing the energy and vibe created by our EP’s in our group exercise sessions and is still involved in the clinical mentoring of our EP team.

Sarah tries to keep herself fit by blending her beloved strength and conditioning work with trail running. Having now completed 13 ultra marathons, she has collected some interesting stories about training and competing which she is always happy to share.

How to Progress Your Exercise Program Without Overdoing It

How can this event help me?

Building strength, fitness, and confidence over time comes from gradually challenging your body in the right ways. Progressing your exercise routine helps support joint health, maintain independence, and ensure you continue moving toward your long-term goals. Even small, consistent changes can make a meaningful difference to how strong and capable you feel day to day.

In this live online event, Exercise Physiologists Sarah Comensoli and Robyn Yin will share practical strategies to help you move your program forward with safety and confidence. This session is ideal for anyone wanting clearer guidance on how to advance their routine, whether you’re working on strength, mobility, stamina, or simply looking to keep building on what you can already do.

Join Sarah and Robyn for a practical discussion where they’ll cover:

  • Understanding Progression: Why regularly updating your program matters for building strength, fitness, and long-term physical independence.
  • Progressive Overload: How to gradually increase load, volume, or intensity in a way that supports steady improvement and continued results.
  • Reading Your Body: Cues that help you know when you’re ready to progress and how to adjust your routine with clarity and confidence.
  • Balancing Training and Recovery: How planning your week, spreading out workloads, and allowing recovery can enhance your strength and stamina.
  • Tailoring Your Routine for Chronic Conditions: Approaches that support progress on both good and challenging days while keeping your goals in sight.
  • Practical Planning Tips: How to set achievable goals, choose exercises that match your needs, and build a routine that continues to grow with you.

Join us on Wednesday, February 4th at 8:00 PM AEDT for this informative live virtual event. As always, we welcome your questions and discussions to make this an engaging and supportive experience for everyone.
