About Namiko Kimura

Namiko is a member of Massage & Myotherapy Australia, having completed her Diploma of Remedial Massage at NSW School of Massage. She also studied Certificate IV in Fitness to complement her passion for the healthcare industry.

With over 5 years experience, Namiko is driven to help her clients to feel better after a massage session. Her main focus when treating the body is to aid in the recovery of patients' injuries and reduce muscle discomfort to improve daily activity and quality of life.

Recently in Sep 2018, Namiko started her post graduate certificate in Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD). Another great skill to ensure her clients get the best results with every massage.

In her spare time, Namiko enjoys listening to music and searching for the best coffee around.

Namiko works as an independent practitioner consulting at BJC Health.

Heel pain can be a common and sometimes persistent concern, particularly when it begins to influence your walking, exercise or time on your feet. Plantar fasciitis is one of the more frequent causes of heel discomfort, yet there is often uncertainty about what approach is most helpful. Should you rest, stretch or strengthen? Understanding how to balance these strategies can support both recovery and long term foot health.

In this live online event, Physiotherapist Belinda Prince will explore the latest evidence around managing plantar fasciitis and share practical, easy to apply strategies. This session is designed for anyone experiencing heel pain, recurring plantar fasciitis, or wanting guidance on how to stay active while supporting recovery.

  • Understanding plantar fasciitis and why it develops
    Learn what is happening within the plantar fascia, why symptoms often appear gradually, and how load, footwear, activity levels and biomechanics can all contribute. Sarah and Belinda will explain why pain does not always mean damage, and what that means for your recovery plan.

    Explore when short term unloading may help settle symptoms, how and when stretching can be useful, and why progressive strengthening is often key to longer term improvement. You will gain clarity on how to avoid both overdoing and underdoing it.

    Discover targeted strengthening strategies for the foot and calf complex that help improve load tolerance. Sarah and Belinda will explain how gradual progression builds resilience and reduces the likelihood of flare ups.

  • Staying active without aggravating symptoms
    Learn practical ways to modify walking, running and other activities while your symptoms settle. This includes pacing strategies, cross training options and simple adjustments to keep you moving with confidence.

  • Footwear, supports and self management tools
    Understand the role of shoes, orthotics, taping and simple home based techniques. You will learn how these tools can complement an active rehabilitation approach rather than replace it.
