NDIS..here we go!

Written by Sarah Comensoli | 21-Feb-2018 21:45:00

BJC Health has recently gone through the process of becoming an NDIS registered provider. We are excited!

What does this mean?

It means our Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology and Diet teams are now able to help improve the function and capacity of clients who can access funding through the scheme.

So what is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is the new way of providing support for Australians with disabilities, along with their family and carers.

How will we help?

BJC is a rheumatology centre, armed with a team of Rheumatologists, Dieticians, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists and Massage Therapists. We believe that any chronic condition deserves a high quality multi-disciplinary approach to care and hope to make it somewhat easier for clients by providing these services under the one roof. We try our best to deliver a smooth, tailored and holistic health care journey to those that walk thorugh our door. At BJC, our allied health team will endeavour to help NDIS clients make meaningful improvements to their lives through building capacity, improving function, health and wellbeing.

How do you know if you or someone you know is eligible?

  • Have a permanent impairement that significantly affects their ability to take part in every day activities, or meet the early intervention requirements;
  • Be aged less than 65 when they first apply to enter the NDIS;
  • Be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa or a Protected Special Category visa.

Visit the government website here to find out more information concerning eligibility.

Stay tuned both here and over on our facebook page over the next few weeks as we start our NDIS journey.
