About Dr Queenie Luu

Queenie is a specialist Rheumatology physician who has expertise in diagnosing and treating arthritis, musculoskeletal conditions and autoimmune diseases. She has a special interest in inflammatory arthritis, crystal arthropathy, osteoporosis, and inflammatory myositis.

Queenie aims to provide evidence-based care that improves patient experience and outcomes in an ethnically diverse population. She speaks five different languages.
Queenie is a Staff Specialist at Canterbury Hospital, and launched the Osteoporosis Re-Fracture Prevention Clinic and DEXA Bone Mineral Density Service. She is also a Visiting Medical Officer at Bankstown Hospital. She is involved in clinical trials research, quality assurance, patient safety, and medical education for medical students and doctors in training.

Queenie is a Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. She is working within the Discipline of Medicine, focussing on the re-design of the UNSW Medicine Program to align meet the needs of the future health workforce.

Queenie studied medicine at the University of New South Wales and graduated with first class honours. At the same time, she completed an Honours Research Project in Physiology and Pharmacology. She has also completed a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Sydney.

Queenie has presented her research work at various National, and International meetings. She has also published in various peer reviewed journals.

In addition to her work, Queenie is trying to lead an active healthy lifestyle and continue her adventures as a global trotter.
