Valerie Chan

Physiotherapist
Bach of Health Science; Doctor of Physiotherapy

Valerie is a graduate from University of Auckland in Bachelor of Health Sciences and Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and Japanese; and from Macquarie University in Doctor of Physiotherapy.

During her undergraduate degree, she was selected as the representative from New Zealand to study abroad in Tokyo University with 24 students from other countries. Valerie was awarded the coveted Heiwa Nakashima Scholarship

Valerie is interested in all musculoskeletal and sports injuries in particular ice hockey related injury and rehabilitation. She has served as the sports trainer and physiotherapist for the Sydney Bears Ice Hockey Team for the past three seasons.  She was also the team physiotherapist for the Under 18 Men’s Australian Ice Hockey Team and the Men’s Australian Ice Hockey Team in 2017, assisting the team in winning gold and silver in their division.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, going to the gym, travelling and exploring Sydney. She is multilingual in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese.
