Can exercise help my arthritis?

The answer to this question is a resounding YES!

Extensive research suggests that targeted and specific exercises has many benefits for those with arthritis, including:

  • Weight loss
  • Slow down the degeneration process
  • Preserve the integrity of the joint.

You may have heard that non weight-bearing exercise such as aqua aerobics and swimming are actually best for those in arthritis  This really depends on the individual. The time of diagnosis, severity of symptoms and individual goals will be considered when designing an exercise plan.

We have many clients who have been able to keep up with their weekly tennis match or bush walk and continue to lead the life they want to lead.
