Dr Irwin Lim MBBS (Hons), FRACP   /     Parramatta & Chatswood

Irwin is a consultant rheumatologist, who deals with all aspects of rheumatic disease. Specific interests include osteoporosis and the arthritides. He is the medical director of BJC Health, and consults at both Parramatta and Chatswood. Irwin also manages the bone densitometry service, and has introduced musculoskeletal ultrasound to BJC Health.

 

Professor Philip Sambrook MD, LLB, FRACP     /    Parramatta

Philip is the Florance and Cope Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Sydney.  He has published over 200 peer reviewed papers including invited editorials in the New England Journal of Medicine, British Medical Journal and Lancet. 

He is a member of the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Rheumatology, Osteoporosis International, Arthritis Research and the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research; as well as a member of the Committee of Scientific Advisors of the International Osteoporosis Foundation.

 

Dr James Choi MBBS (Hons), FRACP, FACD    /    Parramatta

James holds fellowships in both immunology and dermatology. He is interested in the full range of skin and allergic conditions, and is skilled at skin biopsy and excision. The double fellowship puts him in a unique position of expertise as many of the conditions seen by immunologists and dermatologist overlap.

 

Dr Roberto Russo MBBS (Hons), FRACP, BAppSc (PHTY)    /    Parramatta

Roberto is a consultant rheumatologist and Nuclear Medicine Physician. Robert initially trained and worked as a physiotherapist. He enjoys treating the wide range of rheumatic conditions, but has had additional training in sporting injury, having spent time at the NSW Institute of Sports Medicine. Roberto also speaks Italian and is completing a Masters degree in Medical Education. 

 

Dr Herman Lau Bsc (Med), MBBS, FRACP     /      Parramatta & Chatswood  

Herman is a consultant rheumatologist who received extensive training at St George, Liverpool and Concord Hospitals and has experience in a range of inflammatory and mechanical disorders. His fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin enables him to participate in various community seminars and education programs. He is also active in medical education and is a conjoint associate with the University of Sydney. 

 

Dr Mona Manghani MBChB, MRCP (Lon), FRACP / Brookvale

Dr. Mona Manghani is a Consultant Rheumatologist who has has undergone rheumatology specialist training in London, Switzerland and Sydney. Her post-graduate training includes a sports medicine fellowship at the NSW Institute of Sport Medicine. In addition to rheumatic conditions and sports injuries, Mona has sub-speciality interests in early inflammatory arthritis and connective tissue disease.

 

Dr Tim Lu MBBS, FRACP / Brookvale

Tim is a rheumatologist and consultant physician at Manly Hospital, and a clinical senior lecturer, The University of Sydney. He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals including The Medical Journal of Australia, Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases and Arthritis & Rheumatism. He has also written a book chapter on therapeutic strategies in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus.

Prior to the current appointment, he was working within the department of rheumatology at University College London Hospital.

Tim enjoys treating a wide range of rheumatic diseases and has a special interest in inflammatory arthritis, osteoporosis and lupus. He speaks English, Mandarin and Hokkien. 

 

Dr Nick Benton BSc (hons) MBBS (Lond) FRACP / Brookvale

Nick is a consultant Rheumatologist and specialist General Physician. He trained at St George’s Hospital, London and at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand. He brings a wealth of broad clinical experience to the team and is particularly interested in early inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disease and gout. He has experience in musculoskeletal imaging, especially MRI and is developing skills in musculoskeletal Ultrasound. He has undertaken research into early inflammatory arthritis and has published work in the field of musculoskeletal imaging. He also holds General Medicine appointments at Manly, Mona Vale and Hornsby hospitals and is the Rheumatologist for the Northern Beaches Area Health Service.

 

Dr Grace Yung  Bsc (Med), MBBS, FRACP  / Parramatta

Grace is a consultant endocrinologist with special interests in thyroid disease and diabetes. She will complete additional subspecialty training in Nuclear Medicine by the end of this year. Grace is a clinical associate of the University of Sydney medical school. She speaks Cantonese and Mandarin.
